Eye Exams in Fort Lee

Fort Lee optometrist

Have you had a comprehensive eye exam over the past year? This is the interval that is generally recommended between eye exams for adults up to age 60. For people who are older or for people with eye diseases or other medical conditions, it is generally recommended that eye exams are performed on a more frequent basis. Our Fort Lee optometrist provides excellent and comprehensive eye exams, and diagnosis and treatment of many eye conditions.

At Cliffside Park Eye Associates our optometrists are Dr. Van Vinciguerra and Dr. Wae Shin. They use the most technically advanced instruments and procedures to test our patients’ eyes, and to provide necessary eye treatment. Our Fort Lee optometrist has been providing excellent eye care since he began his private practice in 1982. At our practice we provide patients with excellent eye care and prescriptions as well as eyeglasses and contact lenses. Since many eye diseases show no early symptoms, it is of particular importance that you have your eye exams on a timely basis. During an eye exam your eyes will not only be checked to see if you have any refractive problems such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism – they will also be checked to see if you have any eye diseases or disorders. We also are happy to be able to provide complete pediatric eye exams and eye care.

During our eye exams, our Fort Lee optometrist checks for a wide range of eye problems. Among the most serious eye problems that we check for are: diabetic retinopathy; glaucoma; cataracts; retinal problems including retinal tears and retinal detachment; and macular degeneration. Our eye doctor will also be able to diagnose and treat: amblyopia; blepharitis; conjunctivitis; dry eyes; flashing lights; causes of eye pain and light sensitivity; foreign body removal and treatment; keratoconus; vitreal floaters; and many other eye problems. Glaucoma is tested for at every eye exam by checking the pressure inside the eye. This is done by a simple painless test that takes a matter of seconds. If your eye pressure is high, it is not always a sign of glaucoma – additional testing will need to be done. If you would like an appointment to see one of our optometrists for a complete eye exam, contact our office today.

The school year is now well under way, but does your child have everything she needs? One important item to check off your back to school list is a full eye exam here at Cliffside Park Eye Associates. Whether your child currently wears glasses or has never had a vision problem before, these visits with our Cliffside Park pediatric optometrist are an important way to start the school year off right. An undiagnosed eye or vision problem can lead to both academic and behavioral issues for your child in school, and so getting these exams at strategic times can save both you and your child from a real headache! If your child already has glasses, it is important to come in regularly so that our Cliffside Park pediatric optometrist can evaluate how the glasses are fitting and to see if the current optical prescription is correct and up to date. Wearing ill-fitting glasses or glasses with an improper prescription can do more harm than good, and so regular check-ins here at Cliffside Park Eye Associates are key. During each pediatric eye exam, our Cliffside Park pediatric optometrist will use several in depth testing techniques in order to make the fullest evaluation of your child’s eye health and vision quality, and from there will be able to make the most useful recommendations.
